The program started at 5.30 p.m. with the opening remarks given by Principal Dr. Eknath Zhrekar. The welcome address was given by Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla. Dr. Anaya Markandeya introduced the resource person Dr. Rajesh Chandrakant Patil.

Dr. Rajesh Patil started with the meaning of IPR and told that he has 35 patents registered on his name and in which 5 of them are international patents. He explained that IPR is a creation of minds such as invention, artistic work, design, symbol etc. Dr. Rajesh Patil gave an example of colour stapler pin idea by a girl from Pune and this was a huge success. This idea was patented. Thus young minds can create fantastic ideas which can change the course of economy. Sir explained that IP is protected by law like Patent, Trademark, Copyrights so people can earn royalty and other financial benefits from it.

Sir, further explained how can an individual can go for registration of patent. In the registration of patent, search report is very important as it can save repetition of discovery. In addition to this patent writing is also an art and experts consultations is required for the same. Sir discussed about trademark, industrial design and geographical indicator and elaborated its importance in commercial trade. Since Dr. Rajesh Patil was addressing the commerce stream student he said the IPR is integral part of e commerce business. He said that if any students wants to become agent or wants to register the patent, he will definitely help them. At the end of session, participants asked their doubts and Dr. Rajesh Patil clarified them. The formal Vote of Thanks for the session was proposed by Dr. Lata Krishnan. Program was concluded with national anthem.
