F.Y.B.Com. Orientation Program 2019-20

F.Y.B.Com. Orientation Program was held on 24th July, 2019 at Room Number 401 after 7.30 p.m. onwards. The purpose of the orientation program was to provide all necessary information to the first year students. Asst. Prof. Chanramohan Verma talked about discipline issues in the college premises. Further, he explained the college policy about cell phone use. Tutorial classes and timings of business communication subject were informed by Verma sir. Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla explained the functioning of NSS Unit of the college. The activities of the cultural committee were informed by him. In addition, he spoke about the coming friendship day celebration on 3rd August. Principal Dr. Padma Rangan gave information about college examination, ethical behaviour expected from the students. In order to impart industry oriented skills Mr. Vyavhare from EduBridge Learning Pvt. Ltd. were invited. Mr. Vyavhare talked about programs in Banking and Financial organised by their firm. He appealed to all the students to join the program which is of 2 months duration and completely free for underprivileged students. He further promised job assistant after completion of the program. Dr. Eknath Zhrekar spoke about indoor sports activities of the college. Dr. Lata Krishnan informed the students about the functioning of students council. Further, she explained the election procedure for students council. Orientation program concluded at 9 p.m.

Orientation Session 2018-19

The orientation session for the First Year B.Com. students of the academic year 2018-19 was held on Tuesday, 11th September, 2018 in Lecture Hall No. 301, from 6.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

The principal, formally welcomed the students and congratulated them on obtaining admission in this college. She also informed the students about the code of conduct and maintenance of attendance to be eligible for appearing the semester end Examinations.

Each teacher spoke about their subject passing standard and the facilities available in the campus to improve their curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The NSS, NCC, Sports and cultural activities in-charge professors detailed the schedules of each programme. They informed the students to make use of book bank, computer lab and library facilities to improve their academic performance. A brief introduction was given about other courses like Teach India and other employability programme to be organized shortly. The session was concluded by informing the students that they should read the notices in the notice board regularly.

Orientation Session for First Year B.Com students of 2017-18 batches

This program was conducted in two separate session for the division A and B on the 22nd and 23rd July, 2017 respectively.

The students were informed about these sessions well in advance.

The students admitted to A division assembled in the Room No. 301 at 6.30 p.m. The Principal welcomed them formally and briefed the following:

1. The status with the Night Colleges – A comparison with day colleges
2. The bar coded identity card and library card
3. Book Bank
4. Tutorial Sessions
5. NCC, NSS, Sports and cultural activities.
6. Restriction in using mobile phones
7. The two separate bells to disburse the boys and girls separately after the last lecture
8. Counselling centre
9. Community service activities
10. Yoga sessions
11. Computer courses available
12. Gymkhana facilities
13. Students’ council

After this briefing each teachers talked about the syllabus of their subjects, the examination pattern, ATKT rules and motivated them to approach the teachers to clear any of their doubts.

Teachers who are in-charge of NSS, NCC, Sports and Cultural Activities explained how to be in them to develop their multi-level personalities and benefits that can be enjoyed by joining these.

The session was open for asking the doubts if any, and the students could clear some of their quires. The session was concluded by 9.00 p.m.

The Orientation Session for the B division held on 24th July 2017, in Room No. 501 at 6.30 p.m. also covered the above mentioned points.
