Head of the Department of Commerce, Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur Dr. Lata Krishnan participated in the 15th International Commerce and Management Conference on “Impact of Digitization and E-Commerce on Indian and Global Economy; Challenges and Opportunity” on Thursday, 18th and Friday, 19th January, 2018 in Kavivarya Kusumagraj, Marathi Bhasha and Sahitya Bhavan, University of Mumbai, Vidyanagari Campus, Kalina, Mumbai 400 098.
Her research paper titled “Mobile Banking in India; the growth trajectory” received the “Best Paper Award” Dr. Lata Krishnan received the award from the Chief Guest Ms. Shaina NC, BJP Treasurer and Spokesperson.
The event was a collaborative initiative by Department of Commerce, University of Commerce with Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai Group of Institutions, Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai’s Campus, New Panvel 410 206; Oriental Education Society’s Oriental Institute of Management, Vashi; Aditya Institute of Management, Borivali and ICA Edu Skills Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata. The event was supported by University Grants Commission. The Director of the event was Dr. Vivek Deolankar, Professor and Head, University Department of Commerce, Ex-Dean, Faculty of Commerce, University of Mumbai.
- Dr. Eknath Kundlik Zhrekar was awarded with “Saurabh Shivare Memorial Young Research Award” at 29th National Conference of Maharashtra State Commerce Association held at Rashtra Sant Tukdoji Maharaj, Nagpur University on 19th and 20th January 2018. The theme of the conference was “Role of Culture, Ethos and Indian Philosophy in Commerce and Industry”.
He was awarded with Gold Medal, Certificate and Cheque of Rs. 10,000.
- In the same conference Dr. Eknath Kundlik Zhrekar was also awarded with “The Best Research Paper Presenter Award” in the hands of Principal Dr. B.B. Taywade Sir with Certificate.

Avishkar Research Convention 2016-17 Silver Medal
Dr. Eknath Zhrekar of MNDC won the Silver Medal on 27th January, 2017 at the University Level Avishkar Research Convention 2016-17, University of Mumbai and was selected for the State Level Avishkar Research Competition.
Congratulations Dr. Eknath Zhrekar!- The University level competition was conducted on 24th December, 2016 at Vaze College, Mulund. Asst. Prof. Eknath Zhrekar has been selected for the state level by securing Silver medal at University Level Avishkar Research Convention.
- In Academic Year 2016-17, from the Mumbai University, Raigad Zone level competition was conducted in Ramsheth Thakur College, Kharghar on 15th December, 2016. Assistant Professor Eknath Zhrekar from Commerce Department Mahatma Night Degree College, had participated in the zonal level and selected for University level competition.
