NSS Blood Donation Camp 2021-22

J. J. Hospital Blood Bank was the facilitator for this camp.

Since the Covid-19 lockdown did not allow for a blood donation camp to be organized in the college campus, the NSS unit of the college partnered with Rail KamgarSena and CREDIA-MCHI in organizing a Blood Donation Camp along with J. J. Hospital Blood Bankat the Ghatkopar metro station.

Mr. Kadam Public Relations Officer, J. J. Hospital Blood Bank, Mumbai coordinated with us to organize the event.

The NSS volunteers had placards which they held up at the corners of the Ghatkopar metro station inviting people at the station to come in and donate blood. The volunteers helped in registering donors and facilitating the process of blood donation. Volunteers made announcements on the mike promoting the Blood Donation Camp. Both the NSS programme officers Asst. Prof. Tushar Pawar and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lata Krishnan joined the volunteers in this blood donation camp and motivated the volunteers to participate enthusiastically.

Students from College, alumni of college, friends and outsiders visited the camp and volunteered to donate blood. All Covid-19 Social Distancing SOPs were observed while organizing the blood donation camp.

81 units of blood were collected.

During the camp we received calls and messages of commendation from the Principal, Teachers, Students and MU NSS District Coordinator Asst. Prof. Nikhil Karkhanis Sir.

The NSS Volunteers worked sincerely and enthusiastically. Tea and snacks were given to blood donors and the team of organizers.

NSS Leaders Kanchan Ghag and Lekhraj Dholpuria lead the event. Certificates will be awarded to the volunteers by J. J. Hospital Blood Camp. It was a moment of joy and gratification of a NSS Blood Donation Camp successfully completed.
