NSS Beach Cleaning – Worli Patti

The NSS unit of the college partnered with My Green Society and other NSS Units of colleges in Mumbai to participate in a Bleach Cleaning Project at Worli Beach – Worli Patti, the section allotted to us for cleaning of the coastline. This project is a nation-wide initiative where citizens have come together and taken the responsibility to clean their sections of the coastline. This is a part of the Swachh Sagar, Surakshit Sagar initiative.

T.Y.B.Com. student Rahul Sukhdev led a team of 22 MNDC NSS volunteers to participate in the Beach Cleaning Project on 17th September, 2022.

Volunteers reported to the venue at 7.00am to the Worli Beach and collected plastic waste and other waste from 7.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m.. They wore gloves and deposited the waste in bin bags. The waste collected by the NSS volunteers was weighed. 261 kilograms of waste was collected. The organizers commanded the volunteers for their efforts. Refreshments were served to all the volunteers at the end of the project.

An online form was filled up by the participants and all the participants received certificates for their participation in the Beach Cleaning Project.
