Essay of Ms. Sonali Hire from S.Y.B.Com. was selected from Mahtama Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur and she was given an opportunity along with 25 other selected students from all over Mumbai region to visit Delhi.
Democracy is a gift of the Indian Constitution and in order to spread the awareness about democracy among students Honourable Member of Parliament from south central constituency Shree Rahul Shewale held an essay writing competition among various college students in Mumbai Colleges. The topic of the essay writing competition was “Lokshahi Ani Me” which means “Democracy and I”. Students of Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur also participated in the competition and the best essays were sent for evaluation to the selection committee. Essay of Ms. Sonali Hire from S.Y.B.Com. was selected from Mahtama Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur and she was given an opportunity along with 25 other selected students from all over Mumbai region to visit Delhi. The selected students got an opportunity to visit the honourable President’s House, Parliament House and they also attended the 26th January, Republic Day Parade. The entire trip was financed by Honourable MP Shree Rahul Shewale. This was a great experience shared by Ms. Sonali Hire with the press- the Sakal News Paper. They were able to see the important places from were great Indian democracy actually works. Students were also given certificates and mementos at the end for the program.
