From here they started on their De-Addiction or Vyasan Mukti NSS Rally to Gateway of India. NSS volunteers from most of the colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai had participated in this mega rally. The crowd was well organized and they moved in college squads energetically through the roads leading to the Gateway of India.

The volunteers were dressed in white and black and carried the college NSS banner with them. They were given masks to wear to attract the attention of the passers-by. They shouted slogans on De-Addiction or Vysan Mukti and called for a healthy and fit youth of India. A person free from substance abuse is a responsible citizen and a true patriot!

The students walked briskly and shouted slogans of Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamar, Jai Jawan Jai Kisan, Jai Hind, Vande Mataram. They were full of joy as they walked through the thick traffic attracting the attention of passers by. The police personnel steered the rally through the busy streets and ensured that they moved smoothly spreading the message of the joy and jubilation of 75 years of Indian Independence. Their message was De-Addiction.

Though the route was long, students walked on joyfully and did not feel the exhaustion of the journey. The students completed the rally and assembled at their destination, the Gateway of India. Here they had their refreshments, sang the national anthem and then dispersed.
