This colour code was decided to represent the colours of the Indian flag.

Flags were distributed to the students who carried sticks with them. 20 placards were made on the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav theme. Students lined up in height order and formed two squads. The NSS banner was held in the front of the squad. Teachers and leaders walked besides the squad. The route was through Sion Trombay Road to Thakkar Bappa Colony, through Siddharth Colony and back to Chembur Naka, College campus.

The students walked briskly and shouted slogans of Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamar, Jai Jawan Jai Kisan, Jai Hind, Vande Mataram. They were full of joy as they walked through the thick traffic attracting the attention of passers by. The police personnel steered the rally through the busy streets and ensured that they moved smoothly spreading the message of the joy and jubilation of 75 years of Indian Independence.

Though the route was long, students walked on joyfully and did not feel the exhaustion of the journey. On the way they distributed flags to the shopkeepers and residents of Thakkar Bappa Colony and Siddharth colony. Students picked up plastic bags and participated in cleaning the streets of Chembur.

The students completed the rally and assembled at the ground floor multipurpose hall. Here they had their refreshments, sang the national anthem and then dispersed to the classes for lectures.
