Workshop on “Composite Culture”

On Wednesday 12th December, 2018 a workshop on Composite Culture was organized for the students of S.Y.B.Com. Division A and S.Y.B.Com. Division B. The organizers were the resource persons from CMCA CAMPUS YUVA Citizenship and Life Skills Education Ms. Effy Acharya and Ms. Brinda Ganesh. The workshop was organized in room number 401 from 6.45 p.m. to 8.15 p.m.

The Composite Culture workshop is part of a series of workshops announced for college students.

Theme: Composite Culture
Objective: To orient the students towards facts: That India has a composite culture which has been constantly adapting and evolving was introduced and made to understand by students through the Story of 1001 Arabian Nights.

The different eras in History which have contributed to the Composite Culture of India was explained and the source of different items in our everyday use was introduced to students through a Quiz.

Finally that India’s culture is ancient and it is one of our Fundamental Duties in our Constitution to cherish our Composite Culture was underlined.

Methods: Story telling and Quiz

Feedback: Feedback form per group of 5-6 students was collected.

Participants: 10 groups of 5-6 students per group of S.Y.B.Com A and B divisions participated in the CMCA Composite Culture workshop.

Learning Outcome: India has a composite culture which has been constantly adapting and evolving. India’s culture is ancient and it is one of our Fundamental Duties slated in our Constitution to cherish our Composite Culture.
They learnt many new things which they had not known before.
They enjoyed the workshop and the historical part as well.

The CMCA Workshop Series for College Students:
The F.Y.B.Com. students will participate in this series of workshop in the next term post examinations in October 2018.

The objective of the workshop series:
Young people are concerned about their future, career and life. CMCA workshops empower students with values and skills which are important in everyday life and for any workplace.

CMCA programmes instil critical life skills like empathy, critical thinking, team work, communication, confidence and more. CMCA students learn to work in a team, focus on solutions, live with differences, are gender sensitive and value different opinions.

CMCA Programmes are on innovation – transforming in education for democracy into a more empowering and democratic learning process for young people in India.
