A team of four CMCA Educators conducted the workshop in an interesting and interactive manner. There was role play, reading, recitation and Q&A woven into the workshop. Story telling and response from audience were the tools to take the message forward. A story was narrated where the power of social media and social groups and people in society and their impact on a piece of news was narrated. The students were stimulated to think. They clearly understood how news gets distorted and changes as it moves from person to person. The impact of news going viral on social media was also highlighted. The students were taught how not to forward news received on social media. They were taught to read, wait and find out the source of the news and its authenticity. Cultivating Critical Thinking is the need of the hour. Students participated enthusiastically. Many questions were asked and answered. It was a fun-filled activity-based workshop enjoyed by all participants.

The event ended with a vote of thanks where Dr. Lata Krishnan thanked the CMCA Educators and organizing team for their efforts.
