The Degree Distribution Ceremony of 2021-22 batch was organized meticulously by the TEAM MNDC. Student volunteers registered the students at the registration desk and ushered them into the seating area in the hall.

Chief Guest Shri G.T Ochani, Deputy CEO Mahatma Education Society’s Chembur Campus and Guest of Honour Dr. Pruthviraj Desai graced the occasion.

Dr. Lata Krishnan made the opening remarks where she expressed her joy and pride in receiving all the young graduates for the Degree Distribution Ceremony. She congratulated them and said that it was a big day and a mile stone in their careers and lives. She explained how the nation and the world was proud of their achievements and looked forward to their contribution and responsibilities towards nation building and making this world a better place. She introduced the Chief Guest Shri G.T. Ochani and Guest of Honour Dr. Pruthviraj Desai.

Principal Dr. Eknath Zhrekar in his welcome speech, welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and all the students. He congratulated them for their achievements and encouraged them to continue on their education journey. He invited them to enroll for the M.Com. course offered by the college. He encouraged them to register for professional courses like C.A., CMA and C.S. He said, “Sky is the limit” when it comes to further studies. He addressed the students as the Alumni of 2021-22 and invited them to participate in alumni programmes and event of the college.

Chief Guest Shri G. T. Ochani made a stirring speech where he congratulated the young graduates and inspired them to be good human beings. He explained the importance of hard work and sincerity. He expressed the need to acquire excellence in core skills and excel in the work place. He invited the students to visit the college and be connected with the alma mater.

The convocation certificates were distributed with a lot of fan-n-fair with celebratory music playing in the background. The students looked impressive in their graduation capes and caps. The young graduates walked with pride and joy and their smiles lit up the hall way, as they walked up to take their degree certificates.

Dr. Anaya Markandeya was the host for the event and she conducted the event in a methodical and exciting manner. Dr. Harsh Shukla with his team of volunteers lined up the students to collect their degree certificates. Dr. TusharPawar with his team of students assisted the participants to adorn the graduation capes and caps.

Snack boxes were distributed to all the participants, teachers, volunteers and staff.
The air was filled with excitement and students took photographs with friends and teachers.

Dr. Anaya Markandeya proposed the vote of thanks and the event ended.

Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce organized a Degree Distribution Ceremony for the 2020-21 batch on 19th March, 2022 at the multi-purpose hall from 6.30 p.m. onwards. The program schedule had been informed to all the alumni on their WhatsApp Group. The registration desk was arranged at the entrance to enable the alumni to register their names for the program. Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla requested all the alumni to seat after the registration process for the group photograph. The program started at 7 p.m. with the opening remarks by Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla. He requested Principal Dr. Eknath Zhrekar Sir to propose the formal welcome address. Dr. Eknath Zhrekar welcomed all the students and expressed his pleasure to see this batch again after the COVID-19 pandemic. Thereafter Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla requested all the dignitaries on the dais to light the lamp. Dr. Lata Krishnan introduced the chief guest for the evening CEO of Chembur Campus G.T. Ochani sir and requested him to address the alumni students. G.T. Ochani sir gave his motivational speech to the alumni students. Few alumni students also expressed their gratitude towards college and shared their beautiful memories. Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla requested G.T. Ochani sir to hand over the Convocation Degree Replicas to Alumni students. Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla and Dr. Anaya Markandeya Called out the names of the students and a replica of the convocation degree was handed over to students for photograph purpose. The original convocation degree was given by Mr. Ashish Rai and Mr. Ajit Pandey after verification of all the documents. The formal vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Anaya Markandeya. Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla requested all the students to join the dinner after the program was officially over. Alumni students were very happy after meeting their friends and teachers after a very long time and they clicked a lot of selfies to store this moment as a pleasant memory.

Degree Distribution and Achievers Felicitation Program 2020

Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts & Commerce held its Degree Distribution Ceremony on 11th January, 2020 at multipurpose hall between 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Apart from Degree Distribution Ceremony, felicitation of students for various academic and non academic achievers was done during the program. The program started with group photograph of all alumni along with teaching and non teaching staff. Thereafter, Asst. Prof. Harsh Shukla welcomed all the dignitaries on dais. It was followed by lighting of the lamp and University of Mumbai song. Subsequently, Dr. Padma Rangan principal of the college gave her convocation address. Further, Mr. M. S. Pandey who was the chief guest of the program gave information about TISS vocation program. It is followed by felicitation of academic and non academic achievers. College annual magazine Elixir was released after certificate distribution. Last event for the evening was Degree Distribution Ceremony. Alumni students were extremely happy after getting their degrees. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Lata Krishnan and program concluded with National Anthem.

Degree Distribution Ceremony 2018-19

The Degree Distribution Ceremony and Felicitation of Achievers 2019 porgramme was organized on Saturday, 23rd February, 2019 in the ground floor multipurpose hall of the college campus. The event started at 6.30 p.m. The students registered for the programme and took their seats. Parents too took their seats, waiting to see the young graduates receive their degree certificate in the cherished black gown and cap.

Of the 118 students who had graduated 96 students attended the function. Shri. G. T. Ochani Sir, Deputy C.E.O. of the Mahatma Education Society’s Chembur campus was the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour were Shri. Dongre Sir, Incharge of Mahatma Night Degree Junior College of Arts and Commerce, Chembur and Ms. Jatindar Kaur, Incharge of Chembur English Junior College, Mumbai.

The event started with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer song sung by the college general secretary Ms. Divya Ambire. The University song was sung by Ms. Divya Ambire. Principal Dr. Padma Rangan welcomed the Chief Guest and Guests of Honour with a bouquet of flowers. In her welcome address Principal Dr. Padma Rangan congratulated the efforts of the students who had worked hard and successfully completed their graduation. She explained that hard work was as important as talent and that they go together. She acknowledged the efforts of the teachers and parents who have mentored the students well and helped them in their efforts. Padma Madam commended the efforts take by Dr. Eknath Zhrekar, Assistant Professor of the college for starting the Tally ERP 9.2 and GST programme. This is a two months computer course conducted by Satyam Computers in our college campus. Four batches (100) students have successfully completed the Tally GST course and have received certificates for the same. Principal Dr. Padma Rangan spoke about the efforts the college had taken towards placement activity. She particularly appreciated the Job Fair – ‘MNDC Placement Mela’ organized by the college in December 2018 which had 20 companies visiting the college. Padma Madam commended Associate Professor Dr. Lata Krishnan, Head, Department of Commerce of the college for her efforts for organizing the job fair. She further spoke about the tie ups with Technoserve India Pvt. Ltd., and Antarang Foundation who through their training programmes help the F.Y.B.Com., S.Y.B.Com. and T.Y.B.Com. students prepare for job interviews. In her speech she mentioned about the prestigious MOU signed by the Pillai Group with FIFA CIES, Federation International Football Association, Centre for International Sports Education. She said that this Executive programme in Sport Management due to begin in September, 2019 is a prestigious programme that would help create sport managers in the Industry. She commended the organization for being pioneers of such a prestigious programme.

The Chief Guest Shri. G. T. Ochanhi Sir, in his speech congratulated the students and asked them to work hard and be good productive citizens. He blessed the students and cheered them on for a good successful life! The Guests of Honour Shri Dongre Sir and Ms. Jatinder Kaur Madam too spoke to the students and guided them on to leading honest lives where hard work and sincerity alone will take them forward.

The felicitation of Achievers began. NCC SUO Rukhsar Shaikh of F.Y.B.Com. A division was felicitated with a cash award of one thousand rupees and a bouquet for participating in the Republic Day Parade 2019. She participated in the Republic Day Parade 2019 and was part of the “All India Guard of Honour” in the Prime Minister’s Rally 2019 organized on 28th January, 2019. After receiving the cash award and bouquet, SUO Rukhsar Shaikh shared with the audience her feelings. She gave credit to the college and Principal Madam for supporting NCC and for the training she had received in the several camps in Mumbai and Pune before the final selection round. She described her love and commitment towards NCC and her ambition to join the armed forces in the future.

The next achiever to be felicitated was Ms. Sonali Hire of S.Y.B.Com. A division. She too was given a cash award of one thousand rupees and a bouquet of flowers for participating and winning the essay writing competition organized by a Member of Parliament, Mr. Rahul Ramesh Shewale. The essay writing competition was on the topic “Democracy and Me” organized on 10th January, 2019. The award ceremony was a grand glittering event in Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi. Ms. Sonali Hire expressing her feelings and described her joy in participating in such a prestigious essay writing competition. She thanked Tushar Sir, for motivating her to go ahead and write the essay. The college supported her throughout the event. She described her visit to New Delhi where she was invited to receive the award. Her joy knew no bounds when she narrated about the honour bestowed upon her in Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi and the golden moments she clinched sight-seeing across the capital city of India.

The members of the student council were called on stage and felicitated with a posy for their hard work throughout the year. National Anthem

The next group of students to be felicitated were the toppers of the T.Y.B.Com. Semester VI April 2018. They top ten were called on stage and given posies. They were invited to the ‘Fare Well Party’ of the current T.Y.B.Com. batch where they will participate as Guests of Honour and guide the current batch before the semester end examinations. They will also be given cash awards on that day.

After the felicitation of achievers, the degree distribution ceremony began. The students were divided into ten groups of ten students each. They came in wearing the gown and cap and received the degree certificates in front of an enthusiastic crowd that cheered for them and their success. The students were happy to receive the certificates from the Chief Guest Shri. G. T. Ochani Sir, Deputy C.E.O. Mahatma Education Society, Chembur Campus, Principal Dr. Padma Rangan and from the Guests of Honours Shri Donger Sir and Ms. Jatindar Kaur. Individual photographs of students receiving the degree certificates were taken and a group photograph too was taken of every group. The teachers of the college were invited to distribute the degrees to the successful students. It was a joyous moment for all the students, teachers and dignitaries and indeed a moment of truth and pride for all the students, teachers, parents and stake holders of the college.

The event ended with a vote of thanks proposed by Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce, Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce Dr. Lata Krishnan. She thanked profusely Dr. K. M. Vasudevan Pillai Sir, Chairman and C.E.O. Mahatma Education Society’s Pillai Group of Institutions, Dr. Daphne Pillai Madam, Chairperson Management Board, Mahatma Education Society, Shri G.T. Ochani Sir for all the help and support, Principal Dr. Padma Rangan, Teaching and support staff, members of the Student Council of the college, the catering team, photographer, stage and event support team and all those who worked together to make this event successful. Dr.Lata Krishnan thanked the parents who had come for the programme and congratulated them for the success of their wards. Snacks were served on the second floor. The event ended with the national anthem.

Every year as per Mumbai University directives, Mahatma Education Society’s Mahatma Night Degree College of Arts and Commerce organizes the “Degree Distribution Ceremony”. on 15th March 2018, Thursday, the “Degree Distribution Ceremony” was organized for our students of the year 2016-17 who had successfully completed their graduation in the said academic year.

On this occasion all the heads of the institutions in Mahatma Education Society’s Chembur Campus were invited as guests of honour.

The programme was started with the University of Mumbai song. Assistant Professor Dr. Eknath Zhrekar anchored the programme. He welcomed all the dignitaries on the dais, members of the teaching and non-teaching staff and all the students. He also congratulated students for their successful completion of three years B.Com. course. Principal Dr. Padma Rangan addressed the students with her motivational words.

Before starting with the Degree Distribution, the teachers who were promoted to the next level as per CAS (Career Advancement Scheme), were felicitated by the Principal.
