Project Water – Soroptimist International of Chembur & Navi Mumbai
Project WATER implemented jointly by Soroptimist International of Chembur and Navi Mumbai and Soroptimist Club Dortmund Hellweg, Germany. Drinking water was provided to two villages Khnava village and Umroli village in Raigad district. Soroptimist Club Dortmund Hellweg, Germany funded the project and SI Chembur & Navi Mumbai coordinated with them.
Dr. Lata Krishnan, HOD of Commerce & Accounts of Mahatma Night Degree College of Commerce who is the National PAC from Soroptimist International, spearheaded the project WATER at Panvel.
The inauguration of the project WATER was done in the morning of 28th February, 2009 and followed by an International Goodwill and Understanding Meeting organized by SI Chembur & Navi Mumbai. The Soroptimist International clubs in attendance were Soroptimist Club Dortmund Hellweg, Germany, Soroptimist International Pune, SI Bombay West, SI North Bombay, SI Chembur & Navi Mumbai. The President of the NASI Club, National Association of Soroptimist International, India, Mrs.Sheela Rao presided over the meeting.
